I don't know why but I thought I had another release by this band in my files but as it turns out this is their debut and it sounds raw, gritty and familiar. The samples are well placed and killer too. I like it! Unfortunately, I could find very little intel on this band, I mean they have a Metal Archives and a Bandcamp page but neither has much info. Hell, I can't even find a YouTube link and the album came out in October, Grisly death metal from Rhode Island!

So, this isn't the Texas-based Abhorrent that put out a killer album in 2015 and then disappeared, this is a 2-man project from Atlanta and they have their moments on these 3 tracks. Even though it's too short to get a good feel for the he band it caught my interest a bit.

Yesterday, I was looking for something to jam on in the car on the way home from work, so I opened my Bandcamp app and swiped up several times to quickly scroll through the 1,218 albums in my purchased collection and like a roulette wheel wherever it stops I will pick something that appears on the screen to listen to. Luckily, this album appeared as I had not listened to it in quite some time and I was quickly reminded just how good this is. They have a self-titled 2017 release that is good as well. Check these guys out if you are not familiar.

These guys are from Colorado Springs and have 4 full lengths and a demo dating back to 2002. This is the only release that I have; even on their Bandcamp page, it is the only one available. That is a shame because this is a very good album and based on what I have heard on YouTube their older stuff is good too. I had completely forgotten about this album until my buddy nuttinface mentioned them to me earlier this week and then I realized that I had originally posted this on 5/16/15, so I decided to bring them back to the front of the house so others could acquaint themselves with this album as well.

8. Insidious Intentions

Witness: -[*]-
This band has been around for more than 20 years now but this is my first exposure to their work. This is pretty straightforward death metal with no frills added and not a bad listen. Not that it is relevant to the quality of the release but it is interesting to me that this release is 8 tracks at 24 minutes 11 seconds and is considered an EP. Based on the running time I agree with the EP tag however, they also have a 2019 release called Dissonance that consists of 8 tracks at just over 25 minutes and is considered an LP. I guess the extra minute makes the difference but I always considered an LP a collection of songs that was at least 30+ minutes.

There are so many 1 and 2-man bands nowadays and here is another with Uninhibited from Bavaria. This is 2 guys with one performing all instruments and the other on vocals. As I have stated many times this bugs me a little because I like to know there is a "real band" performing the music but when it is good like this album is, then I just go with it.

Not to be confused with the US band Scumbag from New York who also released a good album in October last year, these guys are plural and from Tours, France. I really like this album, their style is labeled as death metal/hardcore, but I am not hearing a heavy dose of hardcore it is just death metal to me.

I saw this release back in July and listened to it and really liked it but then it got buried and I didn't listen to it for a long time, so I am just now getting around to promoting the band and learning that it is another 1-man project band. Unfortunately, that always bothers me when I really like the album because I want to imagine the songs being played in a live setting by a complete band and if it is just 1 or 2 members then you know it's studio only.
