There are 35 bands called Mortuary, if you believe Metal-Archives, and I have visited only 3 of them. The US band posted today, as well as the one in France, and the Russian Mortuary, which are both good bands but the Russians only has 1 album. Out of curiosity, I went through the entire list of bands named Mortuary, and most of them died after releasing only a demo or two, and in some cases, nothing at all. Well, this Mexican band is one of the few long-running incarnations of the moniker. They have been in existence since 1988, but this is their 1st real release since 2012, and their last LP was in 1995. No matter, this is killer thrashing death metal! Check out the 1st track Holy War and see if you don't agree.

Unfortunately, I was not the least bit familiar with this band until I heard their new EP, and then I realized that I've had their 1991 album in my files since 2020 and hadn't even listened to it. I have corrected that now, as I just banged my head to the entire album over the past 30 minutes, and I listened to this album here yesterday. I can say that this is quite good, I mean really good! It's crazy that there are so many bands that I am not even familiar with. I am glad that I continue to discover "new" stuff.
