Damn, this is a very good album and I don't care if it is 7 years old already it still sounds fresh and vital. This is not to be confused with the US grindcore band as these guys are from the Rhineland in Germany. I am not sure how but we all managed to miss this album back in 2016 because it didn't even get an honorable mention on any of our lists and that is a crime because it is an excellent release. I am just hoping these guys put out something new and soon \m/\m/

This disc was released by Bitter Loss Records and I just saw the other day that they went out of business, which is a sad bit of news because they had some quality releases. I also know that the download culture contributes to the struggle of these smaller labels but I would also like to think that the exposure sites like TDC provides to lesser known bands helps more than it hurts.

Distention have created a brutal brand of technical death metal for our listening pleasure. Featuring former members of Rivers of Nihil, The Kennedy Veil, Virulent Depravity, Cognitive, & Visceral Disgorge, their style is pretty much an amalgam of all of those influences and it hits hard.

Here is some killer war-themed Danish death metal. This band features Bjørn Jensen from Dawn Of Demise and Heinz Jacobsen formerly of Koldborn & Furious Trauma so you know they have skill. I had meant to post this disc about 3 months ago but then forgot to do it until CarlG, our resident OG, reminded me about them yesterday. Thanks brother \m/\m/

9. Anthropophobic
10. World Epitaph (Instrumental)
This disc was released in January and was highly anticipated by a few of us here in The Chamber but I am not sure that the sophomore effort lived up to the expectations set by their debut. It is not a bad album at all and I really like the 2nd half of it but Reign of Rotten Flesh grabbed the throat a little tighter.

9. Return to Planet Earth
Witness: -[*]-
It is my impression that Begravement has been toiling in a bit of obscurity for the past 4 years even though they have a couple of singles, 2 demos, and 1 EP to their credit but hopefully, this new album will get them some deserved recognition because I personally think this is a very good release and my new favorite album of the moment.

Witness: -[*]-
It is getting to the point where there are almost as many 1-man project bands as there are traditional bands with multiple members contributing talent. And, Obscure Form is another example of how this can be done very well and where all instruments are actually mastered and none are programmed.
