The Death Chamber's Best of 2014 - Year In Review
Hello all! It is the start of another year and we can only hope that the year of 2015 will be as bountiful as its predecessor. I am speaking purely from a musical sense because I know that there are a lot of screwed up things going on in the world that do not make much sense to a rational person, but this is a death metal blog, so let's focus on the metal. I predict that future metal historians will look back on this time period that we have been experiencing for the past few years and identify it as the epoch of the new resurgence of extreme music. I say this because of the sheer volume and quality of releases that there have been in the past few years, with 2014 being the pinnacle...so far. Whether were talking about releases from established bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Misery Index, Sinister, and Vader, or you are loving new bands such as Tyranize, Enragement, Athiria, Ichorid, and Hate Storm Annihilation. There is so much to "witness" and "indulge" in that creating a best of list can be a daunting task. With all of these spoils to savor and select from I am going to do my best to provide a refined list of what I liked in 2014. These may not necessarily be the best releases in the opinion of others, but this is what I thoroughly enjoyed over the past 12 months or in some cases what I am infatuated with here at the end of the year. I am sure that there will be something here for everyone to wreck their neck to.
