CarlG mentioned this disc yesterday and I immediately thought of the Belgian band Pestifer but this band is from Portugal and this is their new release. Even though I was aware enough of this band to purchase their 2017 album when it first came out I don't think I had ever listened to it completely until yesterday. These guys are creating some killer death metal.

It is kind of sad actually but I purchased a digital copy of this disc back in 2017 and I don't think I ever listened to it. Then, yesterday CarlG promoted their new disc and I went to Bandcamp to research the band, I listened to this and didn't realize that I already owned it and then I purchased it again.

Here is another band that I had forgotten about until I started going down the Pestifer rabbit hole and came across this post here from June 2013, so I decided to bring them to the front of the house again.  Supposedly they're still active but this has been their only release.

Vengeance Evangel is the new album from Chaos Inception. After 13 long years, they are finally back with new material, and at first I wasn't sure because I didn't feel that they got the production sound that they could have but after a few listens now I realize that the quality of the songs was worth the wait.

I kind of slept on this album when it came out last July and that was a mistake because this is fairly entertaining death metal from this Pennsylvania trio. It's probably nothing you haven't heard before but definitely a good effort and a fun listen.

These guys have been true to form for more than a decade now, not deviating much from their style of old-school Swedish death metal. I guess they follow the old adage that if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

It seems that this band has been around since 1993, but they only have a couple of demos, 2 singles, and this full-length album in their catalog. Interestingly, they still have 3 original members from their inception in the line-up.

8. Unto Sepulchres

Witness: -[*]-
Sarcator is back with a new offering of their Swedish-styled blackened thrash metal, which is very much in the vein of another band featured here in The Chamber this weekend, The Crown. There is a good reason for that since one of the guitarists and founding members of this band is the son of one of the guitarists from the other. I was very much down with these young guys back in 2020 and then lost track of them with their last album but I am liking this new release.

Witness: -[*]-
Here is an album that I missed out on a decade ago when it was released and this band from KC, Missouri, would split up almost as soon as this disc was released, which is a shame because this is pretty good and certainly showed potential.

Whisper is a new Helsinki band tagged as death metal but seems to have a progressive slant on this EP. I wouldn't expect this to be to everyone's liking but I dig it.

13. Mind Collapse

Witness: -[*]-
When they were still known as Crown Of Thorns, these guys were one of my early favorites in the Swedish death thrash category and they held that spot well into the new millennium. I feel fortunate that I got to see them live on their Crowned in Terror tour back in 2002. I have kind of lost them a bit in recent years but I do like this album and wanted to promote them again.

8. We Call Upon the Elements

Witness: -[*]-
I don't claim to be any kind of expert on black metal because I don't listen to most of it, but I know that I like this album. These Greeks are melodic, epic, technical, and at times vicious. This is entertaining to me.
