Crisix has been one of my favorite new-age thrash bands ever since I first heard their album The Menace in 2017. I was really excited when I learned they had a new disc coming out last year even though it was a re-recorded version of their 2013 Rise...Then Rest album, which was mixed & mastered by none other than Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal & Cannibal Corpse). I am not sure why the band felt the need to remake the album but since I had never heard the original release these tracks were still new to me. If anyone has the 2013 version, please share.

Witness: -[*]-

I first discovered Endless Recovery with their 2015 release Revel in Demise and I immediately fell in love with their violent old-school brand of thrash metal. I didn't come across this their 1st LP until 2018 and by that time the band had already split up, which is a shame because they created some neck-snapping music.

After almost 12 years of existence, this is another first for TDC as this is the 1st band from Vietnam that I have posted here. I remember there was an EP out from another Vietnamese band several months back that was pretty good too but I can't think of the name now. This is labeled as melodic death but I hear some thrashy-ness in it as well and I like it.

7. Quest for Blood

8. Apparition

Witness: -[*]-
This 3-piece unit from Spain is one of many bands to carry the Apparition moniker and not to be confused with the LA-based version, these guys play an old-school style of death metal that is highly appealing to me. This album was physically released in July 2023 and then re-issued again this week.
