High Command is a band from Worcester, Massachusetts, which is a place I have been to several times in my past work career and these guys were still unknown to me. They play an atypical, yet very entertaining brand of American thrash metal that I thoroughly enjoy. I want to give a big thanks to our friend El Faffo for the heads-up on this band. It is too bad ElF disappeared so suddenly around here as I really appreciated his opinions and commentary.

I remember hearing this album back in the day and thinking to myself that I wish they would have gotten a better production because it wasn't punchy and loud enough but obviously, the talent is there with Chastain on guitar and Leather on vocals (at first before I saw a photo I thought the singer was a dude). They created some good songs that I would still like to hear live. This might not be for the younger crowd, but some of us old-timers may appreciate it.

It is not a bad album but it is different than I expected it to be. The video above is a track from their 2019 album but it sounds so tight that I wanted to include it.

From their 2012 demo to the 2016 EP and then this disc you can tell that Cadaveric Fumes matured with each release and this is their pinnacle in my opinion. Unfortunately, they have split up already but I am thankful for the material they left us.

I have had their 2015 album since it was released and I have always liked it but didn't listen to it a lot. Now, I discovered this disc a few weeks ago and it is a definite step up in production and quality. I can't wait to hear more from these guys and they are due but I don't see any social media activity from them.
