Here is a slice of obscure Canadian thrash with a technical edge and some nice performances. It would have worked better for me back in '89 than it does now but I still like it a lot. Unfortunately this would be their only full-length album as they disbanded shortly after this release.

The follow-up to this release, The Human Factor, was the last Metal Church album that I listened to with any frequency, but this 3rd album from the band saw them at the pinnacle of their talents. Even though I preferred the first two, this is a very good album, that I used to listen to it a lot.

Back in 1989, I found this album in my local record store and knew nothing about the band, but as was typically the case, I bought the vinyl anyway. I remember getting home and putting this on the turntable and being totally blown away by these tracks, with my favorite track being Wicked Mystic. State-of-the-art technical thrash metal, and while I have not followed their output closely in recent years, in my opinion, the band has not equaled the quality of this album from back in the day.

This was a cool album back in the day, albeit somewhat late to the scene but I always thought that Leather was one of the better female vocalists in heavy metal at that time. She had, and still has, a dark tone in her voice, maybe a little Dio.
